I'd highly recommend The Roofing Specialist for anyone needing their roofs done! - There was a major storm that damaged … More the polycarbonate roofing in my airwell and rain started gushing into my home. I immediately started sourcing for roofers and sent out many quotations.
Within 2 hours, Marc was at my home, quoted a fair price compared to 5 other contractors and scaffolding was up quickly within hours while the rains continued. His team sealed the roof to keep the on going rain out and took time to source the right polycarbonate panels that I needed. The installation done on the new roof looked very professional and clean. Very happy about that as well as have peace of mind with the warranty they gave.
Besides that, he also helped to write an assessment report for my insurance and was very communicative, offering sound advice as well as a solid team. Very glad I went with him. Overall I'd definitely use The Roofing Specialist again for my roofing needs! Highly recommended! -

I am so thankful to find The Roof Specialist (TRS) through Google maps like some of the Google reviewers. For my case, I … More had suspected the previous contractor did a shoddy work as that contractor came a few times during the 3-year warranty period to perfunctorily fix my leaky roof around the skylight area e.g. by sending 1 worker up to my roof to seal the skylight panel for like 1 hour. However, root cause of the leak was not addressed so our ceiling around the skylight cracked and worsened during the 3 year warranty period. After the warranty period ended, we decided to look for another roof contractor.
During the March 2025 monsoon season, my husband and I decided to ask TRS to come for onsite inspection and propose a solution for our leaky roof. Marc, Ovid and another worker came. Ovid is a very experienced senior roofer / supervisor. The team proposed to change the skylight panel and re-do water proofing. TRS team is, of the view, that my metal roof panels are still ok and do not need to be changed. After talking to TRS team, we take comfort that they are experts in this field and have proposed a possible good solution so we did not ask for any other quotes. Subsequently, Marc provided a very reasonable quote and we decided to engage them. Marc provided the date of the roof work after 50% payment.
The roof works started on 7 April and the assignment was originally scheduled to take up to 1 week but the works were completed within 3 days as they brought in 1 more worker on the last day. They recommended changing to a sturdier and better quality sky light panel. They did water proofing works and also repair my interior ceiling on the third floor, and my car porch ceiling and side wall. Now my ceilings and wall look as good as new. The previous roof contractor did not even bother to repair my third floor ceiling.
I am very pleased with the work delivered by TRS. TRS team also confirmed my suspicion of shoddy work done previously.
If you need any roof repair works, look no further - just reach out to The Roof Specialist team. The team is meticulous and provides regular updates and honest recommendations on the works to be done based on their expert knowledge. Ovid and his team are punctual, polite and professional. They even washed my car porch after repairing my car porch ceiling and wall.
Thank you TRS team for your quality work and service. 👍🏻👍🏻 -

We found the Roofing Specialist via Google search as we were faced with a leaking ceiling on the upper floor after the recent … More downpours. Marc and his team were fast to respond and very knowledgeable of their craft, identifying the issue easily after a quick survey of the roof.
Their fares were transparent and fair and Marc wasn’t pushy with throwing in any extra works. After seeing how well the job was done we decided to enlist their aid for the remaining sections of the roof for good measure. The team was thorough and even accommodated some of our ad hoc requests along the way. Very satisfied with the final result.
Frequently Asked Questions for Roof Installation
The cost of a new roof installation in Singapore is highly customized, but generally ranges from SGD $8,000 to over $30,000.
-
Key Factors Affecting Cost:
-
Roof Size and Pitch: Larger, more complex roofs (e.g., steep pitched roofs) require more material and specialized scaffolding.
-
Material Choice: Premium options like natural clay tiles, slate, or advanced metal systems are pricier than basic concrete tiles.
-
Existing Structure: Costs may increase if significant structural repair or reinforcement is needed before the new roof is installed.
-
-
TRS Advantage: We provide a Free, detailed, and transparent quotation after an on-site inspection, ensuring you know the exact cost with no hidden fees.
For maximum longevity and thermal performance in Singapore, we generally recommend one of two options:
-
High-Quality Metal Roofing (e.g., Standing Seam): Excellent for heat reflection, lightweight, and can last 50 to 70+ years. We use materials with Kynar-baked finishes to maximize corrosion resistance.
-
Clay or Concrete Tiles: Very durable, offering excellent natural insulation. High-quality tiles can last 50 to 100 years but require a more robust supporting structure.
Yes, new roof installation (re-roofing) on a landed property often involves structural elements and requires formal approval.
-
BCA Compliance: Works that change the weight or load-bearing capacity of the roof structure—such as switching from a light metal roof to heavy clay tiles—must be reviewed and approved by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
-
TRS Service: As a fully licensed contractor, The Roofing Specialist handles the entire submission process, working with a Qualified Person (QP – Professional Engineer/Architect) to ensure your new roof is fully compliant with all Singapore building regulations.
The timeline for a complete new roof installation, including the removal of the old roof, is typically between 2 to 4 weeks.
-
Factors Influencing Time: The specific duration depends on the roof area, material complexity, and, critically, weather conditions.
-
TRS Efficiency: We prioritize efficient project management, ensuring scaffolding is safely erected and daily work is carried out meticulously to meet the schedule while minimizing disruption to your household.
For optimal heat mitigation in Singapore’s climate, a Warm Roof System is highly effective, incorporating specific insulation materials:
-
Insulation Choice: We recommend high-R-value materials like Polyisocyanurate (PIR/Polyiso) or a quality reflective foil system, which are installed directly under the roofing material.
-
Mechanism: These systems create a thermal break, significantly reducing the amount of solar radiant heat transferred into your home, resulting in a cooler interior and lower air-conditioning costs.
Absolutely. Given the push for sustainability in Singapore, we specialize in installing solar-ready roof systems.
-
Structural Planning: We reinforce the roof structure during installation to handle the static weight and wind loads of future solar panels.
-
Integrated Design: We ensure the new roof’s waterproofing and flashing are designed to seamlessly integrate with solar mounting systems, preventing leaks while maximizing panel efficiency.
Safety is non-negotiable, particularly when working at height in an urban environment.
-
MOM Compliance: Our team adheres strictly to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) safety regulations and possesses the necessary Work at Height Course certification.
-
On-site Safety: This includes the proper erection of full perimeter scaffolding, safety netting, designated material lifting zones, and clear demarcation of the worksite to protect homeowners, neighbors, and the workers themselves.
Yes, for RC (Reinforced Concrete) flat roofs common in Singapore, we offer solutions that combine aesthetics with enhanced thermal performance:
-
Cool Roof Coatings: High-performance, highly reflective liquid-applied membranes that drastically reduce surface temperature (the “Urban Heat Island Effect”).
-
Roof Pavers/Tiles: Installation of pedestals and pavers over the waterproofing layer provides a highly durable, walkable area (e.g., a rooftop garden or balcony) while protecting the membrane from UV rays.
A professional on-site inspection is the only definitive answer, but here are the key indicators for replacement:
-
Replacement Indicators (Re-roofing):
-
Structural Decay: Sagging rooflines, soft spots, or rotten supporting rafters.
-
Widespread Damage: More than 30-40% of the roof covering is damaged, cracked, or missing.
-
Obsolete Waterproofing: Multiple, recurring leaks that fail to be resolved by spot repairs, indicating systemic waterproofing failure.
-
-
TRS Inspection: Our detailed inspection goes beyond the surface to assess the underlying deck and structure, providing you with an honest, cost-effective recommendation.
Yes, in most cases, you can remain in your home throughout the re-roofing process.
-
Minimizing Impact: We execute the project in phases, ensuring a portion of the roof is always covered and protected. The scaffolding and work areas are managed to minimize dust and debris in your living spaces.
-
Communication: We maintain clear communication regarding the daily schedule and any periods of higher noise (e.g., demolition), allowing you to plan your day with minimal inconvenience.
